What is a joseki?
A joseki is a corner sequence that strong players agree gives both sides a fair result. Learn the purpose of each move rather than the order alone: when the rest of the board is different, the best move can be too. Most games start on the 4-4 point (the star point, here) or the 3-4 point next to it.
